UV Mapping

For the face I had to use UV mapping to get my image that I took of the toys face to then transfer it over onto my models face in Maya. In the UV Mapping menu I had to get a UV snapshot of the head which I can then take into photoshop to then transfer the image I taken of the face and put it on the UV snapshot. A came across a little issue at first which was the photo I taken had a lot of reflections from the lights in my room which meant I had to use the lasso tool to select the facial features only and then paste them onto a skin tone colour to then apply on the UV snapshot. Because the UV snapshot if of the head which is a sphere, I need to squash the image of the face because when the snapshot goes back onto the head it will stretch itself around the sphere.

Here is the outcome of my first try of the process above. As you can see the image has been stretched around the head which means the face has been stretched a lot also. I took the image back into photoshop and squashed it even more so when It went back onto the head it looked just how its looks on my actual toy.
