Red Balloon - Flashbacks and Sound

In the first film our group made, I included parts where we have quick flash backs and flashes of whats coming ahead. In the Red Button the film is slowly been built up the end where we have a flash back of whats happened which leads to the finale of the film. So we have a graduate build up and then the flashback leads onto a burst of action which leaves us to jump and be a little scared. What I love about this film also is the use of sound. Constantly throughout this film I was on the edge of my seat and I do feel this is because I had earphones on with the volume cranked up. Music, sound effects, thunder all added together I found worked superbly well in scaring us

In my film I worked on the sound design really hard. Trying to create a film full of tension and drama would be nothing without good sound design. As much as it was a pain in the backside at times in the end I do feel it was all worth it. Also the use of silence is key in thrillers, horrors etc, because its a sign of something is about to happen. Next time I come to putting a film together with the same sort of genre, I will look into the sound design even more than I did for Define Me just for the fact, personally I think its one of the most important parts of film making for these types of films. Looking more into music selection and more ambiant sounds.
