During the past few weeks I have been on tour with Ministry of Sound whilst they have been touring the UK. I have been asked to shoot a video for them to promote the head DJ and head host. Before the shoots I spent a while on Vimeo and Youtube looking at some work done in nightclubs. I had an idea of the things I was going to shoot and how I was going to edit but looking at other work gave me a lot of ideas to include in my own video. The Video below is one that I found very effective in the way hes promoting the DJ and also the event.
What I like about this video apart from the brilliant music choice, is the fact its really well balanced, colour wise and shot selection. It really gives you the feeling of you have to be their. For someone who likes going out to nightclubs now and again the video gives you the impression that it is a fantastic atmosphere and a great night to be involved in. The variation of the shots is very well balanced, from the big crowd shots, to the group shots and the dj shots. From my experience of filming in a nightclub now, I think hes done a great job of handling the light as its very easy to have under and overexposed shots. My video is nearly complete so I will be writing a blog post about it when its been uploaded and I will talk about it in more detail when iv done so.
