Colour Correction

For the second film, I wanted to have the colours very dull and cold. From speaking to some 3rd year, they told me to look at Colour Finesse. At first glance its quite complicated with all the different options but I can understand how more efficient it can be. With me being colour blind, at times it was difficult to work out which where the best options to change so I ended up just playing about for an hour or so until I was happy with how it turned out.

Original Footage

Colour Finesse

I am pretty happy with how it turned out in the end. The top image you can see is very warm and looks very much like it is summer. So I decided to de-saturate the footage and turn down the reds and a tiny but of green. I feel its changed the mood of the footage a great deal and when watching the film you can now tell that its cold and damp.

Next time I come to colour correcting, I think I will get to know colour finesse more before actually using it or using something more basic to colour correct.
