For my groups 2 minute short film that we are currently working on, here is one of the clips that is going to be part of the short. With my job being the Editor, i decided to use the freeze motion effect. I wasn't 100% sure how this was done at first so on shoot we shot it as well as shooting it with continuity cuts. I bumped my camera up to 50fps and had the shutter speed on 60. I made them freeze when they got to a certain point and thats when I do a 90 degree turn around Robyn's (Actresses) left shoulder. I then tell them to resume carrying on with the rest of the shot.
I then took the clip into After Effects and added and effect called Timewarp. This is where you can slow down a clip to as slow as 0%. It gives it a great effect, much like having a high speed camera (I Wish). Then adding key frames in the areas I wanted to speed and slow the footage down. I added a bit of sound to give it a slightly better effect whilst people are watching this clip on Vimeo. The sound might be slighly different when in the 2 minute short itself.
