No Promises

For our first 2 minute short film, we have a girl who wakes up in another place to where she was before. I found a video whilst browsing on Vimeo that has this same thing that happens. Its a different approach to what we did, being a lot more simple in the way the narrative works as we don't know why she the actress ends up in the a different location.

I would probably add this to one of my favourite short videos I have watched lately. Its hard to say but I think the main reason is how simple yet so effective it is along side being very beautifully shot. To me this video is all about the shots and how they look. Its not about acting as such but if the way it was shot wasn't so great then this video to me wouldn't be half as effective. Along side the beautiful shots we have a track that I feel fits in perfect. We have the intro which are the vocals of No Promises by Nero and it just feels right which whats going on on screen. We then have the change of pace in the track, this is when we have the transition from her being in her bed to in the fields. I love the edit we have here with the quick montage of her face. Its a great way to make the video flow instead of having just a cut. In my first 2 minute film 'Define Me' I have got a couple of quick montage transitions like this and it works really well.

For our second film we are currently working on, we want to do something quite simple, focusing more on the cinematography on top of a piece of music. Obviously its going to be quite hard to get permission to use a track like whats been used in the video above but up to now we habe got a couple of tracks which we have got from free music websites.
