Yesterday we had our first Adobe Illustrator Induction. Having never used this programme before I picked it up incredibly quick and i am now using this programme to start off drawing my character. Here are a few of the exercises that we went through yesterday in the induction, Starting off very simple just creating simple lines and shapes we then progressed to tracing a character called totoro. We then moved on to using colour and how to use colour gradients in an image to make it look more realistic, for example the two grey vans on the left are coloured using the same colours, but the colours on the bottom van have been been coloured and a gradient has been added by using the mesh tool which shows where the light is coming from. The van at the top is the one I did myself. I have now moved on to tracing my own character which we started in the induction and Im carrying on with this for my character brief.
